Vikings still searching for first win of season

COUNCIL BLUFFS — The Stanton boys basketball team remains winless for the season, following their loss Friday night to Heartland Christian 65-48.

Jeff Marshall had 21 points and seven rebounds in the loss to Heartland Christian

The loss to Heartland Christian came one night after they lost to the Shenandoah Mustangs 49-40.

South Page 63, Stanton 52

Despite a fourth quarter rally, the Vikings lost last Tuesday at home to the South Page Rebels.  
Stanton scored 21 fourth quarter points and held the Rebels to just 13.

However, South Page had built enough of a cushion in the other three quarters that they were able to hold on and win the game.

David Sorensen had a big night for Stanton as he scored 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting, including 3-for-5 from three-point range.

Marshall was short of a double-double as he scored 10 points and had nine rebounds (five offensive).
Kyle Peterson scored 12 points, had three rebounds and three assists.

Stanton will be on the road Tuesday night to face their rivals the Villisca Blue Jays.
