Viqueens win four of five at Missouri Valley
MISSOURI VALLEY—The Stanton Viqueens won four of their five matches at the Missouri Valley Volleyball Tournament Saturday.
Stanton's lone loss came against Missouri Valley. The score was 25-13 and 25-23. The Viqueens won 2-0 in their other four matches.
First the Viqueens defeated Boyer Valley 25-11 and 25-19. Walnut was next as they defeated them 25-12 and 25-14. West Harrison lost to Stanton 25-9 and 25-11. Finally Woodbine lost 25-18 and 25-23 to the Viqueens.
Stanton won their first match of the season against Nishnabotna 3-0, last Tuesday.
The score against Nishnabotna was 25-17, 25-11 and 25-14. Stanton had 19 kills on 71 attempts against the Warriors.
Subbert led the way for Stanton with six kills, while adding 10 digs.
Sorensen had the most digs with 11 and was 17-for-19 on serves with three aces.
Allen and Erin Dekay had a combined 11 total blocks (five solo).
Ragen Anderson had seven assists, seven digs and five serving aces. Sink led the Viqueens with nine assists.
Stanton played at East Mills at Malvern Tuesday, but results weren’t available as of press time. There will be an update posted on the Red Oak Express website by Wednesday morning.
On Thursday, the Viqueens head down to Clarinda to take on Clarinda Academy.
