Weather Watch: Wind Advisory in effect until 7 p.m.

OMAHA — The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Southwest Iowa.

The advisory is in effect for Montgomery, Mills, Page and Pottawattamie Counties until 7 p.m.

Strong south winds are in the forecast for this afternoon, sustaining between 25-30 miles per hour and gusts as high as 45. The winds will decrease as we reach the evening hours.

Motorists should use caution when driving on the roads, in particular, the east and westbound roads. Be alert for sudden gusts of wind. Also,  light and unsecure objects may be blown around by the wind.
