Wedding Bells

Sara Michelle Gilbert and Raymond Daniel Sherman were united in marriage Saturday, July 11, 2009. The ceremony took place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Des Moines, Iowa. Father Edward Hurley celebrated the wedding mass. A reception, dinner and dance were held at the Holiday Inn and Suites on Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Deana Gilbert of Red Oak and the granddaughter of the late Dean and Faith Townsend and Bill and Mary Gilbert.

The groom is the son of Dr. Ray Sherman and Leigh Sherman, both of Sioux City, Iowa and the grandson of Jim and Joanne Froggatt and the late Nicholas and Anne Sherman.

Attending Sara as maid of honor was Megan Shuman, godsister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Rachel Quinn and SueAnn Crouse, high school friends of the bride, and Natalie Neimann, college friend of the bride.

Best man for Daniel was Matt Sener, college roommate. Groomsmen were Bill Backer, high school friend, and Kerry Von Weihe and Aaron Valley, college friends of the groom.

Sara is a graduate of Drake University where she was a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America and Drake Choir. She is employed at Hanser and Associates Public Relations Firm in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Daniel is a graduate of Iowa State University and was a member of the Pre-Physical Therapy Organization and The Iowa Statesmen. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Sara and Daniel honeymooned on a Mediterranean cruise and are currently living in Johnston, Iowa.
