YMCA reading is fun night success

The Montgomery County Family YMCA, teamed up with Red Oak Hy-Vee, the Red Oak Altrusa Club, the Red Oak Optimist Club and the Red Oak Presbyterian Church on the evening of Nov. 20 at the YMCA for the 3rd Annual “Reading Is Fun Night”.

Over 50 youth from the surrounding areas in kindergarten - 5th grades attended this educational program.

The night consisted of story telling, relay games in the YMCA gym, the Red Oak Optimist Club bounce house, a fun craft, snacks provided by YMCA volunteers/staff and milk from Hy-Vee Food Store of Red Oak.

The YMCA will plan a 4th annual event next November and will look into having swimming as a part of the 4th “Annual “Reading Is Fun Night” in 2010.
