Adams arrested on child molestation charge
RED OAK – A Red Oak man was released on a $10,000 bond Friday after he was arrested on charges he sexually molested his adopted daughter.
According to a Red Oak police report, officers arrested Stephen Adams, 32, Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. following an interview at the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center.
Adams had been questioned regarding an incident that allegedly occurred Monday night at his home in the 600 block of East Grimes in Red Oak.
Court documents indicate Adams is accused of fondling the victim’s genitals and breasts. He is formally charged with lascivious acts with a child, a Class C felony.
Those same court documents indicate the victim is under the age of 14 and is Adams’ adopted daughter.
This week’s arrest came just a few months after Adams completed terms of probation following a 2014 felony drug conviction for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to deliver.
Adams was arrested on four counts of the felony drug charge, and after three were dismissed, he pleaded guilty to the fourth, resulting in a suspended five-year prison sentence.
