Creeping legislation and gun control laws

Dear Editor:
I see that Ms. Miner and the rest of the gun grabbers are still pushing their failed agenda.
She must not realize most people have caught on to the left wing/socialist/communist tactic of employing creeping legislation to accomplish their agendas; after all, they’ve been dong it for at least half a
century, now. Creeping legislation simply means they claim they only want this one small thing and, before the ink is dry on legislation implementing that one small thing, they’re back proposing just one more small thing. Pretty soon they have everything they wanted in the first place, but wouldn’t admit because they couldn’t sell the whole package in one big piece.
There are already gun control laws on the books; too many of them, in my opinion. Yet the gun grabbers want even more of them. They fail to note more people are killed with knives than are killed with firearms and more people are killed in falls and other accidents than are killed with firearms.
In point of fact, firearms fatalities have been (slowly) declining for the past decade despite the recent events; Obama would trumpet that fact if it wouldn’t hurt his gun control agenda, which it would.
Harming people is already illegal, whether or not a weapon is used to do it.
Licensing and other controls sound reasonable, but I don’t think putting some
corrupt, power-drunk politician or bureaucrat in control of my rights is a good idea.             Most people don’t know it, but back in 1945 the Supreme Court ruled the operation of one’s own private vehicle on the public roads for one’s own private noncommercial
purposes is a right, not a privilege; as far as I know that hasn’t been overturned – yet.
I found i amusing that Ms. Miner’s hero, Bernie Sanders, actually publicly admitted the Constitution is just a piece of paper, its meaning subject only to the whims of whoever populates our Constitutionally-challenged Supreme Court. His actual words were to the effect ‘if I am elected president I’d nominate Supreme Court justices who will overturn Citizens United.’
 Citizens United is a decision that allowed unlimited political contributions by Political Acton Committees (PACs) – apparently Bernie and other communists don’t get much money from PACs, and apparently that really bugs them. So Supreme Court decisions are not the final word on any subject.
