Cub Scout outdoor day

SHENANDOAH– Trailblazer District of Mid-America Council of Boy Scouts held an Outdoor Sporting day for Cub Scouts at Pioneer Park.   The boys and siblings learned how to safely shoot BB guns and archery. 

The cub scouts were able to practice these skills and earn achievement awards of belt loops and pins.   The boys also enjoyed fishing.  They worked on fishing achievements as well.
There was a total of 57 boys attending, earning 169 awards.  Participating units were Pack 37 of Carson, Pack 73 of Hamburg, Pack 75 of Essex, Pack 76 of Stanton, Pack 80 of Red Oak, Pack 202 of Clarinda, Pack 218 of Shenandoah, Pack 249 of Malvern and Pack 512 of Council Bluffs, Iowa.   The belt loop and pin program is a supplemental program that encourages Cubs to develop scholarship, sportsmanship and new skills while earning awards.  There are 28 sport activity areas and 25 academic areas offered to earn these awards.
