Doris Beedle, 87

Doris Beedle, 87,  of Villisca, passed away June 7, 2011, at the Villisca Good Samaritan.

Doris Lucille (Archer) Beedle was born to Herbert and Mapelyt (Weaver) Archer, July 23, 1923, in the Washington Township in Montgomery County, Iowa.

She graduated with the class of 1942 from Villisca High School. After graduation, Doris worked at Martin Bomber Plant at the Offutt Air Base in Omaha.  

Doris married John Emory Beedle in Council Bluffs, in 1950 and was a homemaker, tending to their five children.

Doris enjoyed collecting antiques, rock hunting and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, John Beedle, Jr.; and her siblings, Roy, Ralph, Jack, Forrest, Merle, Lucy and Opal.

Survivors include her children, Sharon Stacy, of Omaha, Doug (Marilyn) Beedle, of Villisca, Kim Beedle, of Villisca, and Rosie (Kent) Jackson, of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren, Courtney McCoy, Kevin Beedle, Jeremy Beedle, Joshua Beedle, Kelly Jackson and Kara Jackson; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services for Doris took place Saturday, June 11, at Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca. Interment followed the services in the Villisca Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to a fund in Doris' name.
