“It was a battle with the top seven racers,” said Red Oak coach Sueann French. “Emmanuel had a nice race, and Hayden was not far behind. We just need to get our four and five runners closer to Osiel. We had Emmanuel, Hayden and Osiel all in the top 15 and earning a medal.”
The East Mills boys finished 11th in the team standings.
Carter Jorgensen ran an 18:16 to lead the Wolverines with a 31st place finish.
The Tiger girls tallied 210 points.

“I was very impressed with her (Jenkins) as a freshman and first time out for cross country,” French said. “Leya Walker was second in the lineup with a great PR (personal record). We are thrilled to have a full girls team this year.”
Walker ran a 25:59 to finish 46th.
