Hunters help our local businesses
To the editor,
Make no mistake, hunters in Iowa support our local businesses, and as we ready for the upcoming season we should support them as well.
As the owner of the Farmers Kitchen in Atlantic Iowa, I see firsthand the positive effects hunting has on local businesses. According to some research hunters spend nearly 300 million dollars in Iowa every year.
During the fall hunters pass through our town daily and eat at our restaurants, stay at our hotels, and shop at our markets and their money helps employ some our friends, neighbors and family. It’s safe to say the hunting heritage in Iowa is one of the key economic engines that keeps us moving and helps our businesses succeed during tough economic times.
I see hunters in our town all fall and I am thankful for what they contribute to our local economy.
Please join me in supporting this industry by looking into a new organization called Hunting Works for Iowa. Their website is www.huntingworksforia.com its free of charge to become a member and it may just help save a job or help our economy.
