Iowa Agriculture Secretary hosting meeting in Red Oak
RED OAK — Iowa’s Secretary of Agriculture will host a town hall meeting next week in Red Oak.
Bill Northey announced Tuesday as part of his effort to visit each of Iowa’s 99 counties in 2010, he will be coming to Montgomery County Monday, June 7.
Northey will host the town hall meeting at 3 p.m. at the Red Oak YMCA at 101 E. Cherry.
“I’ve enjoyed these meetings and learned a lot from them during the past three years, and look forward to seeing what issues are important to residents of Montgomery County,” Northey stated in a press release.
Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his first term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are the opportunities in renewable energy, conservation and stewardship, and telling the story of Iowa agriculture.
