Larry Wayne Johnson, 65

Dr. Larry Wayne Johnson, 65, Pettisville, Ohio died Monday, May 13, 2013, after battling pancreatic cancer.  

He was born Jan. 21, 1948 in Clarinda, the son of Seymour and Clara (Brown) Johnson.  He was a 1966 graduate of Villisca. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1973 with a medical degree. He was a family practice physician in Michigan City, Ind., from 1977-1993. He was an ER physician in Wauseon, Ohio, from 1996-2012.

On April 29, 1972, at Lake McBride, Larry married Gloria Dell Wagler. They were married 41 years. He loved his family, friends and most of all, his Lord. He was a member of Pettisville Missionary Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jennifer Lynn.

He is survived by his wife; a stepson, Joe (Beth) Horner and a daughter, Angela (Seth) Adkins, both of Sarasota, Fla.; a niece, Sarah Allbee; nine grandchildren, Seth (Kia), Jordan, Taylor and Daniel Horner, Sydnie, Sean, Shiloh, Arianna and Asher Adkins; two sisters, Leona (Bill) Kernen and Avon (Garry) Mumm; a brother, Richard (Pat) Johnson; mother-in-law, Myrtie Wagler; brothers-in-law, Richard (Litsa) Wagler, Bob (Deanna) Wagler, John (Janet) Wagler, Tom (Jeri) Wagler, Curtis Wagler, Tim (Sherry) Wagler, and Chris Wagler.

Memorial services were Thursday, May 16, at the Pettisville Missionary Church. Interment was in the Pettisville Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be given to Women’s Resource Center of NW Ohio, Gideons International, Pettisville Missionary Church, or Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties. Short Funeral Home of Archbold, Ohio was in charge of arrangements.
