Lester C. Johnson, 87

Lester C. Johnson, 87, of Red Oak, passed away Nov. 25, 2010, at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Neb.  
Lester Clarence Johnson was born March 19, 1923, in Montgomery County, the son of Veimar and Mary Anna (Dukeshire) Johnson. Lester married Joan Boyer on Nov. 26, 1949, in Wheaton, Ill. Joan passed away on Feb. 14, 1974. Lester married Joan Herzberg on June 21, 1997.  
Survivors include his wife:  Joan Johnson of Red Oak; children:  Pam Osmanson of Red Oak; Tim Johnson of Mebane, N.C.; Tom Johnson of Red Oak; Patty Denson of LaCrosse, Wisc.; and Polly Solomon of Prospect Hill, N.C.; step-children:  Terry Byers of Henderson; Jeff Byers of Fremont, Neb.; and Kim Lang of Council Bluffs; seven grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; sisters:  Esther Mae Gotberg of Red Oak and Nina Eckstrom of Dallas, Texas.
Funeral services were held Nov. 27 at the First Covenant Church with Rev. Alan Dean officiating.  Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
