Midred J. Doan, 92

Mildred J. Doan, 92, of Villisca died Nov. 20, 2009 at the Stanton Care Center in Stanton.

Mildred “Millie” Doan was born in Montgomery County to Ruby Mikesell Sprague and Vernon Sprague on July 24, 1917. She married Glen Doan in May of 1937. She was a lifelong resident of the area except for 15 years that she and Glen farmed south of Nodaway in Page County.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and their wives, her daughter-in-law, son-in-law and nephew. 

She is survived by her children Jean Hofer of Red Oak and Charles Doan of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Nov. 23 at the Wolfe Funeral Home of Villisca with burial in the Villisca Cemetery following the service.
