The No. 6 ranked and Western Iowa Conference champion Cardinals (20-3) were every bit as good as advertised, according to Red Oak head coach Ron DeVries.
“They were big, athletic and shot really well,” said Red Oak coach Ron DeVries. “We played a good first quarter and after that we were scrambling and trying to catch up the rest of the game.”

The Cardinals shot 57.7 percent – 30-of-52 – from the field in the win. Corbin Thien led a balanced scoring effort with 16 points on perfect 8-for-8 shooting. Ethan Hill and Alex Lovely added eight points each.

Sifford was one of five seniors, along with Brett Erickson, Landon Gigstad, Tyler Myers and Pablo Villanueva, to play their final game for the Tigers.
“They are great kids,” DeVries said of his senior group.  “Every program relies on seniors for leadership. These seniors each brought something special to contribute to the team.”
The Tigers wrap up their season with a record of 8-15 overall, including a 2-8 record in the Hawkeye 10 Conference.
