Virginia Bowen, 92

Virginia Bowen, 92, Hastings, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.
Virginia was born May 5, 1932, near Wales, the daughter of Clarence Charles and Irma Inez (Norton) McKinney. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1950 and was united in marriage to Floyd Bowen on May 21, 1950. Floyd was a farmhand until they started farming on their own near Hastings, where Virginia still resides. Virginia was a homemaker, a member of the Henderson United Methodist Church, the Strahan Garden Club, and the Emerson American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, dancing, traveling, watching westerns, and she loved her family and watching all the kid’s events.
Preceding her in death was her parents; her son, Gerald Edward Bowen in infancy; husband, Floyd Bowen; sisters, Evelyn Osler and husband Jim and Bernadine Pendegraft; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, LeRoy Bowen, Loyd Bowen and wife Gladys; David Bowen and wife Gina; and Joan Humphrey and husband Ted.
Survivors include her children, Randall Bowen of Essex; Kathy Doyle and husband Pat of Imogene; Dave Bowen and companion Sue McDonald of Malvern; Cindy Stoehr and husband Doug of Forsyth, Mo.; and Sherri Nissen and husband Jerry of Prescott; grandchildren, Chris Doyle and wife Rosie of Bloomington, Ill.; Jenny Wuebker and husband Randy of Lorimor; Patrick Doyle and wife Brooke of Emerson; Josh Bowen and wife Laura of Imogene; Nathan Bowen and wife Bailey of Hastings; Bryan Bowen and wife Kylie of Red Oak; Eric Stoehr and wife Lindsay of Springfield, Mo.; Jessica Trautz and husband Michael of Orlando, Fla.; Alyssa Dea and husband Dalton of Walnut; Amanda Nissen of Creston; and Reagan Eubank of Red Oak; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Kate, and Fiona Doyle; Taylor and Nate Purdy; Blake, Abbie, Cy, and Kenzie Wuebker; Madison, Payton, Kirby, and Dakota Doyle; Molly, Emma, Boyd, Nole, and Zane Bowen; Kymber and Connor Stoehr; Eden Dea; and Liam, Aidan, and Griffin Eubank; sister, Janice Duysen of LaPorte City; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Farm Creek Cemetery at Henderson.
