Paul L. Struble, 54, Castana, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at his brother Bill’s home in Soldier.
Paul Lewis Struble was born Aug. 10, 1958, in Onawa, the son of Russell and Betty (McLaughlin) Struble. He attended school at East Monona. He was a lifelong farmer in Jordan Township, rural Soldier. Paul enjoyed watching wildlife, feeding birds and found great enjoyment in his ham radio skills and friendships. He was a member of the Boyer Valley Amateur Radio Club and served as the A.R.E.S. coordinator.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Carol Struble. Paul is survived by his father, Russell (Daisy) Struble of San Benito, Texas; his mother, Betty Blackford of Flippin, Ark.; a sister, Phylis (Vic) Sanchez of Austin, Texas; four brothers, Wm. R. (Bill) Struble of Soldier, Charles Struble of St. Petersburg, Fla., James (Terri) Struble of Middleville, Mich., and Daniel Struble of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; six nieces and nephews; eight grand nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends in Monona County.
Per Paul’s wishes, cremation will take place. Graveside services will be in the Jordan Cemetery in rural Soldier at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.rushfamilycareservice.com.
