Phony $50 bill in RO

A counterfeit $50 bill was passed to Hy-Vee in Red Oak over the Independence Day weekend, according to information from the Red Oak Police Chief Justin Rhamy.

He encouraged businesses to check the security features on bills. The Red Oak Chamber & Industry alerted its members, and Rhamy told the chamber that just because it was a $50 bill that was passed is no guarantee that there are not counterfeit bills of other denominations being circulated as well.
