Public health nursing service decertified

Public Health Nursing Service of Montgomery County will be decertified by June 30, 2010. Decertification means MCPHN will no longer be able to bill Medicare / Medicaid / and or private insurances for in-home nursing and Home Care Aide services.

Public Health Nursing Service of Montgomery County will remain at the same address and phone number if individuals have any questions. The office will now be concentrating on public health services rather than home health nursing as funding and staff allow.

These services will include immunization clinics, education and audits, blood pressure screenings, communicable disease investigations, emergency preparedness, lead follow-up and education, maternal health clinics, new baby visits, parenting program and health education.

MCPHN will also be able to provide homemaker services based upon income with a sliding fee scale.
