• Filed July 2, Randon Phelps, 35, Red Oak, possession of drug paraphernalia, domestic abuse assault first offense, held on no bond.

ACCIDENTS

• On June 29, at 5:40 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of North 2nd and East Hammond streets. Stephen Purcell, Red Oak, driving a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero, was traveling west on Hammond Street and failed to stop at the stop sign on 2nd Street. His vehicle was hit by a 2005 Ford F150 pickup driven by Melissa Hummel, Red Oak, causing $4,000 damage to Purcell vehicle and $3,500 damage to the Hummel vehicle. There were no injuries, and Purcell was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

• On July 2, at 10:13 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident in the 700 block of East Washington Avenue. Aunalee Bruce, 18, Villisca, driving a 2010 Jeep Commander owned by Tabatha Larsen, Villisca, was traveling west on Washington Ave. Rose Kelly, 78, Red Oak, driving a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire owned by Edward Kelly, was backing from a private driveway. Kelly failed to see the Bruce vehicle and backed into it. Damage to the Bruce vehicle was about $1,200, and damage to the Kelly vehicle was about $1,000. No citations were issued.

• On June 29, at 10:26 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a single-vehicle accident in the parking lot of Casey’s South at 201 N. Broadway. Rodney Parson, 61, Red Oak, driving a 2006 Nissan Altima was, according to the report, was attempting to park his vehicle when his foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator. The car went over the curb and struck the east side of the building. Damage to the vehicle was about $1,200 and damage to the interior and exterior of the vehicle was about $5,000. There were no injuries, and no citations were issued.
