ACCIDENTS

• On Nov. 6, at 3:36 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a car/motorcycle accident at the intersection of 4th Street and Washington Avenue. Skylar McGarry, 16, Omaha, driving a 2009 Honda Accord, was traveling south on 4th Street, a one-way street. There was no stop sign at the intersection, since McGarry was traveling the wrong way on the one-way street. The McGarry vehicle entered the intersection, striking a 2015 Triumph T Bird Storm motorcycle operated by Scott Demont, 50, Red Oak, that was traveling east on Washington Avenue. There was $8,000 damage to the McGarry vehicle and $15,000 damage to the motorcycle, and McGarry was cited for failure to yield to the vehicle on the right at an uncontrolled intersection. McGarry and her passenger were not injured. Demont was taken to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. His passenger, Norma Demont, 57, Red Oak, was treated at the scene and then flown by Life Net to the University of Nebraska Med/Trauma Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
