Red Oak falls short at CB Tournament

COUNCIL BLUFFS —The Red Oak Tigers softball team lost both of their tournament games at the Lynx Classic Friday night.

Red Oak lost to SC North, 10-0 and to St. Albert, 13-2.

Red Oak lost to Glenwood at home last Tuesday, 8-2. The Tigers had three hits in the game.

The Rams jumped out to a 4-0 lead early in the game and didn't look back.

Caitlyn Smith was 1-for-3 at the plate with one run scored. Grace Blomstedt and Cheyanne Nelson had the other hits for the Tigers.
Paige Isaacson scored the other run in the game.

Holmgren pitched the complete game, giving up five earned runs on seven hits and striking out three.

Last Monday, Red Oak lost to the Clarinda Cardinals, 5-1.

Gabi French was 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and a walk.
Paige Isaacson was 2-for-4 with one double.

Kristi Yardas scored the only run of the game for the Tigers.
Holmgren pitched six innings, giving up three earned runs on 11 hits and striking out five.

The Tigers are now 10-17 for the season.

Red Oak was home Monday to take on Shenandoah.

Results weren't available as of press time, but there will be an update on the Red Oak Express website Tuesday.

The Tigers won the previous meeting against Shenandoah, 14-2 on June 7.

They travel to Creston Tuesday and are home Thursday to face Harlan.
