Red Oak man arrested on drug charges

A Red Oak man is facing several charges after police found a large amount of marijuana in his home.

Acting on a tip from a confidential informant, Red Oak police officers investigated the alleged narcotics information and observed a party in the garage of Scott Jacob Cisar’s residence Aug. 10 at approximately 3 a.m.

Officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from within the garage.

The informant previously advised officers that a large amount of marijuana was observed in the living room of the apartment.

At about 9 a.m. Monday morning, Red Oak police obtained and executed a search warrant at and gained entry to Cisar’s residence, but there was no one at home at the time of entry.

Scott Jacob Cisar was located at his place of employment by Red Oak police officers and escorted to the scene where he was advised of his rights and was read the warrant.

Officers located numerous items of paraphernalia and marijuana throughout the residence. Also located within the residence were several items from a methamphetamine lab. All evidence was photographed, inventoried and collected.

Cisar was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County jail where he was charged with Iowa Code 124.401(5), possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, 124.401(4) possession of precursors a class D felony and 124.414 possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Cisar was taken into custody, processed without incident and held on a $5,000 bond.

The Red Oak Police Department is continuing this investigation and additional charges could be filed at a later date.
