Red Oak splits doubleheader with Atlantic

RED OAK — The Red Oak Tigers split a doubleheader with the Atlantic Trojanns in Red Oak Thursday.

Red Oak won game one, 7-6, thanks to a seventh inning rally.

The Tigers had trailed 6-3 in the inning, when they scored the four runs to win the game.

French scored the game winning run after an Atlantic outfielder dropped the potential third out.

Red Oak tied the game thanks to a sacrifice bunt by Paige Stokes, scoring Paige Isaacson.

Isaacson had reached base by hitting an RBI triple, which sent home Bailey Hankins.

Red Oak lost the second game, 6-0.

The Tigers played Clarinda on Monday, but results weren’t available as of press time.

Tuesday, the Tigers are home to take on the Glenwood Rams.

On Friday and Saturday, Red Oak will be in Council Bluffs to compete in the Abraham Lincoln Tournament.
