Red Oak sweeps Creston

RED OAK — The Red Oak bowling teams were able to sweep the Creston Panthers in conference bowling action last Tuesday at Red Oak Lanes.

The boys team won 2,999-2,762, while the girls won 2,417-2,372.

Evan Mellott finished with a 425 series, while Casey Dykes had a 411 and Dylin Keat bowled a 401.

The girls match-up stayed close, as Creston was able to take the lead early, but Red Oak took it back heading into Baker games.

Red Oak was able to clinch the win when the girls bowled a 198 in the fifth Baker game.

For the girls, Jayden Hilding led the way with a 348 series, while Allison Aufdenberg finished with a 337.

The boys team remains undefeated, going 16-0 for the season. The girls team is now 15-1.

Their lone loss was to Creston in December.

The bowling team will be back in action Thursday when they head to the Denison Lucky Lanes to face Denison-Schleswig.

Former High School bowler Taylor Mellott had some luck at Lucky Lanes the last time Red Oak went to Denison, bowling a 300.
