Santa’s Children on the move

Santa’s Children has been in existence for over 13 years providing services to medically fragile children and adults with disabilities.  For the last five years, the former Macedonia, school building has been transformed into Santa’s Children Christmas Village.  SCCV has added over $120,000 in improvements to the building through donations from fundraisers and grants including volunteer labor converting the structure into a magical winter wonderland where more than 3,000 kids have visited.  Santa’s Children has hosted many special groups, such as Muscular Dystrophy, Micah House, Open Door Mission Lydia House, and many others providing them with a meal and free toys and clothing.  
The five-year lease with the school district has expired and the school board plans to sell the building to a commercial developer or demolish the building.  Therefore, Santa’s Children Christmas Village must move its entire inventory to another location.  Referrals for any potential large building would be appreciated.  Please contact Orien Hodges at 712-486-2599 or 402-657-6034-cell.  Orien Hodges, Founder and President, the Board of Directors and advisory board members would like to thank the Riverside Community School District for the use of the building and to all those who attended fundraisers and volunteered over 28,000 hours in the last five years for this worthwhile cause.  
Thousands of primarily Christmas oriented gift and collectable items will be on sale from Nov. 18 through Dec. 31, Village hours Sunday-Friday 1 p.m.-5 p.m., except closed Thursday; Saturday 10am-5pm.  A “pick your own” 50% discount will be given on retail merchandise.  The discount can either be shared with the buyer’s choice of a charitable organization (i.e. 30% of the purchase price may be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, etc. and 20% to the buyer) or the entire 50% given to the buyer.
Volunteers, either individuals or organizations, are also being sought to help pack and move thousands of new clothing, toys, books, shoes, etc. for medically fragile children and children in need.  Contact Orien Hodges at 712-486-2599 or 402-657-6034 to set a time.
