Southwest Valley finishes fourth at Clarke
OSCEOLA — The Southwest Valley boys track team picked up multiple wins as they finished fourth at Thursday’s Clarke Invite.
Southwest Valley recorded a team score of 80 as Knoxville won the meet with 143.50.
The highlight individual win came in the 110-meter high hurdles as Tony Klocke (15.54) won by less than a second over Peyton Pedersen of Central Decatur.
The other win came in the shuttle hurdles as the team won with a time of 1:04.02, edging out Central Decatur by less than a second.
Scott Vanderhoof picked up a runner-up finish in the high jump as he finished with 5’10”. Trevor Sorensen also finished second, edged out at the finish line by Albia’s Jake Clouse in the 400-meter hurdles. Sorensen was two-hundredths of a second behind Clouse as he ran a time of 57.82.
Colten Drake had multiple finishes in individual field events for the Timberwolves, including the shot put when he had a toss of 44’2” to place third. The other finish came in the discus when Drake had a throw of 117’5” to place fifth.
