State bowling postponed
UPDATE: According to a joint press release, both associations felt there would be much more trouble with teams returning home Thursday or driving up for the tournament Friday. Information from the National Weather Service Office in Des Moines led to the postponement decision. Both Associations believe the conditions will deteriorate rapidly Thursday afternoon and added they don't want students, coaches or spectators to go to or from the tournament in unsafe and dangerous conditions.
The IHSAA and IGHSAU have postponed the state bowling tournament scheduled for Thursday afternoon at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines.
The tournament was postponed because of the impending snow storm expected to hit Iowa Thursday.
It will be rescheduled for March 11 and 12 at the same location. The start time for the tournament will be at 11 a.m.
Both Red Oak bowling teams will be competing March 11.
