Three top finishers for wrestling at ADM Tourney
ADEL—The Red Oak Tigers wrestling squad placed three top finishers at the Adel DeSoto Minburn Tournament in Adel on Saturday.
Seth Esaias took first place at 171-pounds when he defeated Jesse Svoboda of Audubon by pinfall with 30 seconds left in the first period.
Cole Meek finished second at 152-pounds when he lost to Ben Swalla of Ames by pinfall 54 seconds into the second period.
Geoff Sellers took fifth place when he defeated Jordan Ihle of North Polk by an 8-3 decision.
Red Oak was scheduled to compete at Griswold last Tuesday against Griswold and Bedford/Lenox, but the dual was postponed.
Tuesday, they competed at Creston against the Panthers and Shenandoah. Results were not available as of press time.
This Friday and Saturday, the Tigers are back in action when they travel to Corning for the John J. Harris Tournament.
The tourney will start at 4 p.m. Friday and will continue the next day at 10 a.m.
