Tigers fall short to Lewis Central and Glenwood

COUNCIL BLUFFS—The Red Oak boys basketball team lost both of its games this week to Hawkeye Ten opponents.

The most recent loss for the Tigers came Friday night in Council Bluffs to the Lewis Central Titans, 53-37.
Red Oak stayed close with Lewis Central and trailed by three points at halftime.

However, Lewis Central outscored Red Oak 36-17 in the second half, including 15-6 in the third quarter.
Jordan Nelson was the leading scorer for the game as he finished with 16 points. Pete Walker had seven points.

For Lewis Central, Alex Reed and Tony Rew were the leading scorers, each recording 13 points in the win against Red Oak.

Last Tuesday, Red Oak was held to 20 points in the second half as they lost to the Glenwood Rams, 55-41, in Glenwood.

The Tigers stayed close with Glenwood and trailed 26-21 at halftime.

However, Glenwood had the edge and out-rebounded Red Oak 29-15 during the game.

Tanner Johnson finished the game as Red Oak’s leading scorer, recording 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds.

Walker, Jose Perez and Ryan Leininger each scored six points. Walker also had six assists in the Glenwood game.

Corey Bertini was Glenwood’s leading scorer as h e finished with 17 points, including 10 in the first half.
The Tigers have two more games before the holiday break.

Tuesday night, they’ll be on the road to face Shenandoah and Friday night they’re home for a game against Creston.
