Red Oak Hoops
The Red Oak Tigers girls' basketball team lost 47-32 Tuesday night to Clarinda at home.
After a slow start in the first quarter, the Tigers picked up the pace and eventually knocked Clarinda's lead down to eight points late in the third quarter.
Blake Bergren was the leading scorer with 12 points.
The boys' team lost the second half of the doubleheader to Clarinda, 61-37.
Down 31-18 at halftime, Red Oak rallied to cut Clarinda's lead to nine by the end of the third quarter, thanks to the efforts of Gustavo Rodrigues, Tanner Johnson and Dakota White.
Fouls became an issue for Red Oak in the fourth quarter as both Johnson and White had four fouls for most of the quarter.
Both teams will be back in action Friday night. The boys' travel to Glenwood, while the girls' host Glenwood.

Corner Conference boys' in action
The Villisca boys' basketball blew out the South Page Rebels, 74-24.
Villisca jumped out to a 26-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Timmy Myers had a double-double, scoring 29 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Marshall Dolch also had a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Stanton Vikings lost their quarterfinal game to East Mills, 57-29.
East Mills will play Villisca Thursday night in Villisca. The other semifinal game will be Sidney against Clarinda Academy.
