UPDATED: Sports Calendar: May 14 (Tentative)

2:09 p.m. update: The Mount Ayr district track meet has been postponed until Friday at 4 p.m.

It's a busy day for sports, but whether all the events go on as planned or not depends on how cooperative the weather will be.

One event that will be affected by this rain is the boys district tennis tournament, slated to start in Red Oak around 9:30 a.m. Because of the rain, the tournament will likely be moved inside at the indoor courts of the Montgomery County Family YMCA. Should anything change, we'll update on here.

Meanwhile, there's district track meets on the calendar for Thursday, all starting at 4 p.m.

The Red Oak and Southwest Valley track teams will be competing for a shot at state in the 2A District 8 meet, held at Treynor High School.

Griswold, Essex and Stanton will be in Mount Ayr for the 1A District 8 meet.

Finally, East Mills will be going to Mondamin for the 1A District 11 meet at West Harrison High School.

There will be a slight chance of rain during the afternoon hours, but as of now the meets are still on.
