Vera E. Hoover, 91
Vera E. Hoover, 91, of Red Oak, died Sept. 27, 2009, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.
Vera Evelyn Hoover, the daughter of James E. and Della (Thompson) Hendrix was born May 22, 1918 in Murray. Vera attended grade school in Kent. Her high school years were lived in Hysham, Mont. and then Red Oak. In 1936, Vera married Harold O. Lewis. Vera was a member of the First Baptist Church in Red Oak having served as a Sunday School Teacher. Vera was an active member of V.F.W. Auxiliary #2265.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; four brothers, Fred, Kenneth Lauris and her twin brother, Vernon; three sisters, Eula, Grace, and Margaret; and granddaughter, Laura Louise Lewis.
Vera is survived by children: Russell (Neta) Lewis of Norfolk, Neb.; Mary Jane (Marvin) Adams of Emerson; David (Linda) Lewis of Council Bluffs; and Robert Hoover of Calif.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law: Carlene Hendrix of Pontotoc, Miss.
Funeral Service were held Oct. 1 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak with Rev. Len Taylor officiating.
