Viqueens start season 0-2

 SIDNEY — The Stanton Viqueens softball team is off to an 0-2 start on the season following road losses to Sidney and Nodaway Valley.

Their opening season loss came last Tuesday 6-5 against Sidney.

Sidney scored runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth inning. 

The Viqueens fought to stay close, but were only able to get one run in the seventh.

The 13-3 loss to Nodaway Valley occurred last Wednesday in Greenfield.

Nodaway Valley scored eight runs in the fourth inning to ensure the victory.

Stats from both games weren’t available as of press time.

The Viqueens were back in action Monday night as they faced off versus East Mills in a doubleheader. Results weren’t available as of press time.

Thursday night, Stanton has their home opener as they take on the Essex Trojanettes. The action starts at 6 p.m. at Anderson Park.

Friday they’re home again to play Fremont-Mills.
