2015 Corner Conference Basketball Tournament set
The Corner Conference brackets were released Wednesday morning. Here is the bracket for both the boys and girls basketball tournament.
Boys
The seeding for the boys tournament is as follows:
- Fremont-Mills
- East Mills
- Sidney
- Nishnabotna
- Stanton
- Essex
- Clarinda Academy
- Heartland Christian
- South Page
It will be Heartland Christian and South Page playing in the opening round game Saturday night at the Iowa School for the Deaf as the winner will play Fremont-Mills in the quarterfinals. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
Fremont-Mills and the winner of South Page and Heartland Christian will face off at 6 p.m. at Stanton High School Tuesday in the quarterfinals.
The other quarterfinal match set for Stanton features the Stanton Vikings taking on Nishnabotna. That game will start at 7:30 p.m. or after the conclusion of the FM quarterfinal game. The winners of the FM/HC/SP and Botna/Stanton games will play each other in the semifinals in Sidney Thursday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m.
The other quarterfinal location is Clarinda Academy. Sidney and Essex play each other in the first quarterfinal game at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. East Mills then plays Clarinda Academy in the second quarterfinal game, which starts after the first. The winner of EM/Academy and Sidney/Essex will face off in Sidney Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m.
The championship and consolation games will take place in Tabor at Fremont-Mills High School, starting at 6 p.m. with the consolation game.
Girls
The seeding for the girls basketball tournament is as follows:
- Fremont-Mills
- Nishnabotna
- Essex
- Sidney
- Stanton
- East Mills
- South Page
- Heartland Christian
- Clarinda Academy
The only opening round game features Heartland Christian hosting Clarinda Academy at the Iowa School for the Deaf at 6 p.m. Saturday night. The winner will play Fremont-Mills in the quarterfinals.
There are two quarterfinal locations: Essex and South Page (College Springs).
In Essex, the first game of the doubleheader Monday night will feature Fremont-Mills against the winner of Heartland Christian and Clarinda Academy. The game tips off at 6 p.m.
The other quarterfinal game features Essex taking on East Mills. That game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
In South Page, it will be the Stanton Viqueens taking on the Sidney Cowgirls first at 6 p.m. Monday
The winner of Stanton/Sidney plays the winner of Fremont-Mills/HC/Academy game Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Nishnabotna (in Farragut).
The second game in College Springs features South Page taking on Nishnabotna. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
The winner of South Page/Botna and Essex/East Mills will face off in the semifinals Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Nishnabotna High School.
The championship and the consolation games will be Jan. 23 at East Mills High School.
