Timberwolves BB teams split wins with POI foes

The Southwest Valley basketball teams splits wins with Lenox and Southeast Warren with both the girls and boys teams going 1-1 on the week.
In a competitive back-and-forth game at Lenox, the SWV girls came up just short, falling 57-52.
Senior Ryanne Mullen recorded her first double-digit scoring game of the season, finishing with 13 points to lead the team. Freshman Ada Lund had her first career varsity double-digit scoring effort with 12 points, and freshman Mackenzie Fast earned her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Timberwolves stole the ball 18 times and held Lenox’s top scorer, Sadie Cox, to just nine points.
“We played really well tonight in many facets of the game,” Southwest Valley head girls basketball coach Mike Cormack said. “Both teams played hard in a quality high school basketball game. We are improving every game. The whole team played well and we came up just short.”

The Southwest Valley boys defeated Lenox 63-55.

Southeast Warren
Haer had a spectacular double-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in leading the Timberwolves to a 70-44 win over Southeast Warren at home on Thursday, Dec. 15.
The Timberwolves led 31-23 at halftime and exploded with a 39-21 second half to win their home opener and first conference game.
“We are making positive steps forward and this was a great team victory,” Cormack said. “Everyone contributed to this win.”
The contributions showed in the stat books as every member had at least one assist.

The Timberwolves boys fell 49-43 to the Warhawks.

JV
The JV girls defeated Lenox in a half game, 26-16. Hailey Randall finished with 17 points, making five three-point shots.
Sidney Crill had four points, Miaya Fourez three points, and Kaya Owen two points.
“I am really proud of our hard work tonight and teamwork,” Southwest Valley head JV girls coach Kristin Fast said. “The shots were falling tonight.”
