Ruth Greenwood, 80

Ruth Greenwood, 80, of Shenandoah, formerly Emerson, passed away May 31, 2010, at the Hospice With Heart Hospice House in Glenwood.

Ruth Miriam Greenwood was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Rhinelander, Wis. the daughter of Gunnard and Hulda (Carlson) Grahn. Ruth married Edward Greenwood on Oct. 10, 1950, in Omaha, Neb.

Survivors include her children: Sherry Hambsch and Shirley Orton of Shenandoah; and Berkeley Greenwood of Glenwood; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 5 at the First Presbyterian Church in Shenandoah, with Rev. Rick Sleyster officiating. Burial was in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery.
